What we collect

Account: your email address and password (authentication is handled by Supabase; we never see your password in plain text), and your username, display name, and optional bio and avatar. Profile & location: an optional address, postal code, city, and country, plus a date of birth used only to show age-rating warnings on games. From your address we derive approximate coordinates (see “Location”). Your collection: the consoles and games you add, with details such as condition, rating, hours played, acquisition date, price, and personal notes, plus your wishlist and “up next” list. Social activity: borrow requests, community connection requests, and the messages you exchange with other players. Technical: limited diagnostic data when an error occurs (see “Sharing”).

How and why we use it

We use your account and collection data to provide the service you signed up for — managing your collection, lending and borrowing, and connecting with other players (legal basis: performance of our contract with you). We use limited error diagnostics to keep the app secure and working (legal basis: our legitimate interest in a reliable service). We use product analytics only if you accept analytics cookies (legal basis: your consent), and you can withdraw that at any time below.

Location

If you provide an address or postal code, we send it to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to obtain approximate coordinates. On public maps and discovery, your position is deliberately blurred to a roughly 500-metre grid — never your exact address. Your precise coordinates are only ever shown to players you have a mutually accepted connection with. You can leave the location fields blank, and you can clear them at any time from your profile.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. We use a small number of processors to run the service: • Supabase — database and authentication, hosted in the EU (Ireland). • Vercel — application hosting and content delivery. • PostHog (EU region) — product analytics, only if you consent. • Sentry — error monitoring. • OpenStreetMap — geocoding your address and serving map tiles; when a map loads, your browser contacts OpenStreetMap directly. Game and console details are fetched from IGDB; we send no personal data to IGDB.

Cookies & local storage

Strictly necessary (always on): your authentication session, your saved cookie choice, and interface preferences such as theme and language. These are required for the app to work and don’t need consent. Analytics (optional): used only after you accept, to measure how the app is used. No analytics storage is set before you accept, and declining or withdrawing removes it.

Analytics

With your consent we use PostHog (EU region) to record anonymous product-analytics events — for example, a game added or a borrow request sent. Events are tied only to your account identifier; we never include your email, address, location, or message contents. Analytics are off by default and start only once you accept. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time below.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, collection, and associated social data are removed. Operator note: confirm exact retention periods (e.g. for backups and analytics) before publishing.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and withdraw analytics consent at any time. You can delete your account and its data from your profile settings, and manage analytics consent below. If you are in the EU and believe your data isn’t handled properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).

Contact

Operator note: add the data controller’s name and a contact address for privacy requests before publishing.
